Restore Free Collective Bargaining! Repeal Imposed Contracts!

Bill 115 was imposed by the Liberals, with the full support of the Tories, to restrain labour and democratic rights and curtail local democracy and autonomy in Ontario. This enabled massive cuts to education transfers, including $2 billion to workers’ wages and benefits.

The Liberals are working hard to convince their corporate backers that they can be just as tough as the Tories when it comes to imposing austerity in Ontario. Read more

Restore Free Collective Bargaining – Repeal Bill 115

The CPC (Ontario) today gave its full support to striking teachers who have been forced to take action because of the provincial government’s illegal attack on the free collective bargaining rights of teachers and educational workers.

If this attack is not defeated, it’s clear the government will extend Bill 115 to cover all public sector workers and contracts in Ontario, eliminating free collective bargaining and the right to strike for more than 1 million unionized workers in Ontario. Read more

The last 4 years since the global economic crash have been hard ones for working people, the unemployed, youth, women, racialized communities, and migrants. Greedy corporations and their right-wing governments have moved mountains to download the costs of that global crisis onto the working class, even though the crisis was caused by corporate greed, not by working people.
